The buzz around where hemp is grown and how it is extracted is a top concern when we consume hemp oil for wellness…. And, it should be!
Phytorite takes pride in working with our certified USDA organic partner farm, Green Cherry Organics, here in Colorado. We believe in top quality products and seeking cutting-edge leaders in the hemp industry. Our partner has been exceeding our and our customer’s expectations. They exclusively use a thermal extraction process to extract all cannabinoids and beneficial terpenes from USDA organic hemp. The process uses heated air to gently extract all the Phyto-cannabinoids, terpenes, and beneficial nutrients without the use of harmful or harsh solvents. It is very similar to steam distillation used in the essential oil industry. Heated air passes through our hemp flowers to evaporate the cannabinoids and terpenes from the surface of the hemp in the form of vapor. This vapor is then collected and condensed into a terpene-rich, full true-spectrum high CBD extract.
The extracts are flash activated in less than 2 seconds, so the plant’s natural terpene profile is preserved. By using flash activation, our extracts contain the highest level of naturally-occurring terpenes of any activated edible extract. Since terpenes are required to experience the full effects of CBD and other cannabinoids, our customers report that our terpene-rich extracts are more potent than those produced with other extraction methods.
When a hemp plant produces CBD, it is produced in the form of CBD-A. For CBD to be available to the body, the naturally occurring CBD-A must be converted to CBD. This process is known in the hemp industry as activation or decarboxylation and is accomplished by heating the CBD-A until its natural chemical process converts to CBD. Conventional methods of activating CBD include exposing it to heat for 45 minutes to several hours until most of the CBDA is converted to CBD. This conventional activation process drives off and destroys most of the plant’s volatile terpenes, in turn lowering the efficacy of the oil. Our extracts are gently activated in 2 seconds.
Our team does it differently—they preserve the hemp plants’ naturally occurring phytonutrients. This results in a more potent and effective extract and in conjunction with a full cannabinoid profile, we are able to maximize the “entourage effect”. The “entourage effect” essentially meaning that all cannabinoids and terpenes are working together to provide effective benefits.
CO2 extracted hemp oils contain high levels of carbonic acid, which can impart a sour flavor to food products. Ethanol-extracted hemp oils contain plant chlorophylls and water-soluble fractions can impart a bitter flavor to food products. Butane, Hexane, and Pentane extracted oils are not considered organic and can contain trace chemical adulterants.
We do it differently – Phytorite hemp extract is a naturally-extracted premium hemp oil that is completely free of chlorophyll and carbonic acid and therefore does not impart undesired flavors to food. By exclusively using thermal extraction to extract our cannabinoids and terpenes, our extract has a neutral, nutty, sweet flavor and mixes well into all food products and nutritional supplements.
Our partner farm takes pride in doing it right – from the roots up – all the way to our infused products. They practice biodynamically farming techniques, enlist predator insects like ladybugs for natural pest control and practice a “zero-waste” grow and production process.

Late 2020 and the escalation of the COVID pandemic brought multiple medical research university departments together to publish their thoughts and findings regarding CBD and COVID-19.
Four departments from three countries showcased their reasons that they felt CBD was worthy of being considered and inspired others to “further targeted studies”.
